How I Spent Saturday

Feb 3rd was an interesting day.

At 930am, I hopped in the car and drove 133 miles north to the offices of KNX-1070 AM Radio in Los Angeles.

I did a 20-minute radio interview, then got back in the car, and drove 133 miles south, back to home.

It was a blast.

I'd been invited to appear on Jeff Levy's Computer Hour, a radio talk show that runs Saturday and Sunday afternoons from noon to 3pm. Jeff wanted to interview me live on the air about all things Eventful.

I'll try to write more about it when I get a chance.

Anniversary

brianstorms blog launched five years ago this week.

I started blogging in June 1997, first on nettle.com. I'll write about that in June (if I remember).

Every time I go down to Windansea Beach, I see an increasing number of one-legged birds, or birds with one good leg and one broken leg. For instance:

And no, it's not that its right leg is just neatly folded and out of view. There is no right leg. I've seen this particular bird on numerous occasions.

Here's another one:

In the past month I've seen probably four or five such birds with leg injuries or missing legs, all at Windansea Beach in La Jolla. Strange.

On this point, BruceS speaks for me. I've pulled all my photos and don't plan to go back. I'll put 'em up here on my blog instead.
