Jesse, the English Bull Terrier

19 April 1995 - 24 April 2005

Goodbye, pal. You were the best. You're free now.

Lessons Jesse taught me:

  • Take the pain.
  • Always stretch as soon as you get up. Rolling around on the floor to scratch your back is optional, but not a bad idea either.
  • As soon as the door to the outside opens, it's showtime. Always be alert, always be your best.
  • Always give the benefit of the doubt.
  • Immediately forgive someone who steps on your foot or tail, as they most assuredly didn't mean it.
  • If you're feeling down, go for a walk. It always helps.
  • Breathe, sniff the world, enjoy.

    Sorry to hear about that, Brian. Dogs are truly a man's best friend. Oscar, a half great pyrenese and half samoyed big white fluffy dog was my best friend growing up. Taught me so many things. And my family got a golden retriever when I was in high school, Maxwell Hobbes. He was an awesome dog who died a few months ago. R.I.P. Maybe they have cool events in doggy heaven for them to go to.

    We had to give up our pooch for the sake of our toddler earlier this year, and man oh man I can't remember the last time I cried so much. Have you read this?

    He had a good life with you and many, many years from now as you walk through the gates he will greet you and you can pick up where you left off.

    I agree with KEEME. You've given Jesse a good life, and that should give you some comfort, If that's at all possible right now. Having read all your posts regarding Jesse have made me love my dog even more. I'm sure gonna miss reading about Jesse.

    I'm so sorry for your loss; I can tell by Jesse's photo how unique he was. I see his bright & shing spirit coming through. I know that he'll always be with you, though, looking out for you in his own, very special, loving doggie-way. Beloved pets are like that, you know! And I fell in love just looking at him....
