June 18, 2004You're Gonna Carry That Weight, A Long TimeBack in February 2003 I blogged about Paul McCartney's stealth concert in Rancho Santa Fe, as reported in this San Diego Union-Tribune story. A wealthy couple had commissioned McCartney to perform, as a gift from the husband to the wife on her 50th birthday. The cost? $1 million, which McCartney gave to charity.I noted in this week's San Diego Reader a tiny mention of the fact that the couple has since divorced and is in the process of selling their RSF home. Go figure.
