What the OOoFF?

Things must be pretty desperate in Michaelsoft-land, for them to try to get people to shell out $29.95 for OpenOffice (a free download from here) and FireFox (also a free download from here).

Has Michael no shame?

This sorta stuff pisses me off. But it's certainly no worse than Red Hat's commercialization of Linux and plus it should be put into context. Robertson explains that he wants to better market cross-platform software. And after spending the holiday with my grandparents, I can see that it's true, there are those who will still only use software if they can buy it at Wal-Mart and it comes in a box.

With that said, the only way to end the intermediary nonsense is to get the word out that these programs are free. Good post.
