August 04, 2003Hillary Comes to La JollaCouldn't resist photographing what was sure to be a record turnout for a celebrity book-signing in La Jolla today. Hillary Clinton was in town to sign copies of her new bestselling book. News reports indicated only 900 books would be signed, one per customer, and it had to be bought new at the store. So that's roughly a $25,000 take for Warwick's Book Store. Not bad.At the entrance to the store were protesters, some with gruesome anti-abortion photographs. One person encouraged people to buy Ann Coulter's book instead. A splendid time was had by all.
It looks like there's no line on the Fay Ave sidewalk, but that's because the line started moving while I was walking on the other side of the street, and people got up and ran so as to not lose their spot in line. The line coagulated at the corner of Fay and Silverado. Comments
Both those Clintons need to get out of politics all together! I could go on forever bashing the hell out of the 8 year disaster that the Clintions were in the White House but I will save that for another time. The best I can say is thank God neither one of the Clintons is running for governor of California! Posted by: Mamma at August 16, 2003 05:53 AMIsn't Hillary amazing in a way? I saw her at a parade once - she was the most polished, plastic thing I've ever seen. I was in an awe of sorts. Of course, she's no Angelyne! Posted by: Ed at August 20, 2003 05:03 PM
